Interview With Brad Ehrman and Bonnie graver
I had the privilege of interviewing Brad Ehrman, the Athletic Director of Upper Sandusky High School. He attended Spring Arbor College in Michigan and received his Bachelor degree there. He then received his Masters at South Dakota State University. Ehrman interned at Lunen Christian Jackson Michigan as student teaching. He had two jobs before accepting the job at Upper Sandusky High School and has been there for thirty-three years. His first job was at Vacaville California High School for three years. Then he worked at Western Christian High School, South Carolina for seventeen years Ehrman is in charge of scheduling, hiring and firing, evaluation of coaches, the budget and purchase, ticketing, and paying officials. He is in charge of the coaching staff, volunteer staff and all game personals on a daily basis. Ehrman reports to his supervisor, Jim Clifford (principle). We talked about the hours he pulls as an A.D. He works in the school from seven in the morning to about three in the afternoon. He then goes home for a little while and then around four or five in the afternoon, depending on game time, and he is at the game until the very end. On some days he pulls fourteen hour days and if he is lucky he might have a day where he works for just eight hours. His primary responsibilities are the students and student athletes. He is also in charge of game management. Ehrman said one perk about being an Athletic Director is the flexibility in his work schedule. He likes being involved with athletics and watching students succeed, he enjoys scheduling games as well as the financial aspect. His biggest dislike about his job is the parent-issues. Ehrman advises to be prepared for this lifestyle, long hours and being on call at all time.

I had the privilege of interviewing Bonnie Graver. She is in charge of game management. She is a part of the RAM boosters at the Upper Sandusky High School, and she is a mentor at the Upper Sandusky Middle School. Graver does ticket sales, crowd controls, 50/50 tickets as well as keeping students in line at game events. She also puts on fundraisers to help athletes out as well as help build the athletic program. She is mainly a volunteer worker but does a lot for the High School and Middle School. She likes being involved with the athletics and helps students along the way. She holds tutoring sessions for athletes who are struggling in their scheduling. Graver just enjoys working with students and being able to work with the school. Any chance she gets she volunteers. She said she pulls long hours throughout the day and night. When I asked her for advice, she just told me that volunteering is a good start in getting your foot in the door to where you want to be, Ehrman said this as well. She also said hard work and dedication pays off in the end.
